   Teacher Responsibilities

  • Assist in recruitment of a parent volunteer to teach the program in your classroom.

  • Communicate with volunteer to arrange a schedule of visits--you can arrange for the volunteer to teach the lessons one at a time over several visits to the classroom or all in one visit for approximately 4 hours. (JA in a Day)

  • Remain in the classroom while the volunteer is teaching.

  • Provide support and assistance to your JA volunteer as needed

  • Confirm completion of the JA program in your class with either your school's JA liaison or a JA staff member

Ideas for Thanking Your JA Volunteer

  • Have all of the students in the class sign the Junior Achievement Banner that is in the kit

  • Hand drawn cards from students

  • Classroom picture with the kid's signature in the margins

  • One big thank you card with the kid's signature

  • The school choir or classroom could sing a song

  • School logo items could be included in a goodie bag

  • Hip Hip Hurray! Or some sort of a thank you chant
